James Drury (1934-2020) played The Virginian in the '60s TV show of the same name. He is Irish, English & French.
Mr. Drury said that all his father's grandparents were from Ireland. His mother was also Irish, as well as English & French.
He learned to ride a horse as a baby; his father put him on a horse when he was in diapers. The reason he started acting
was because he was in a school Bible play. The feeling of being on stage made him want to become an actor. James Drury
based The Virginian character on his cowboy grandfather, John Crawford. He imitated the way his grandfather
talked and acted. James Drury made a special guest appearance in the 2000 Virginian movie. He lived to 86.
He was also in TV shows: Wagon Train (1957), Perry Mason (1957),
Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1955), and Men Into Space (1959).

Doug McClure (1935-1995) was born Douglas Osborne McClure to an Irish father and an English mother.
He played Trampas, The Virginian's sidekick. Mr. McClure has two girls, Tané & Valerie. Tané was on an episode
of The Virginian as a little girl. He was also in episodes of The Twilight Zone (1959), Murder, She Wrote (1984),
and Fantasy Island (1977). Doug McClure sadly passed away in 1995 at the age of only 59.
